PROJECT UPDATE
The upgrading of the Avondale Village for Adventist Aged Care is proceeding with the development application to be lodged first quarter of 2010. This project provides for the replacement or refurbishment of 40 independent living units in the village together with a new activity centre linked to the administration building. Construction of the Hannaford Centre at Rozelle for Leichhardt Council is nearing completion. The official opening is set down for March 2010. The Illawarra International Health Precinct has progressed well with the draft approval from the Department of Planning received on Christmas eve and final approval expected shortly. In January the Department of Health approved the detailed layouts for Stage 1 of the project encompassing day surgery and private hospital with 6 operating theatres. Wollondilly Shire Council will shortly be receiving the tender documents for the new Douglas Park Sports Community Centre. This building will provide new sporting and community facilities including change rooms, canteen, hall and spectator seating for the residents of Douglas Park.
